HID Fog lights?
I have after market cheapies on my accord and i keep seeing people say to others get some aftermarket fog lights and put hid's in them
how do you do this? I thought hid's are for normal headlights

you would need an h3 hid kit to fit in your fog lights. most of the time though fog lights are not big enough to fit the hid bulb in there. online you can find h3c hid kits which are shorter h3 hids.
however i would not suggest hids in aftermarket fog lights. one if they are not made of metal and glass these is a chance the fog light will melt and/or melt the seal and fill up with water. second fog lights were meant for halogen bulbs. hids will produce alot of glare for oncoming traffic can you can get a ticket for it. i found some aftermarket fogs at autozone that i liked and tested to make sure the bulb would fit. also made of glass and metal. and then used tape to tape off the bottom half of the fog light lens leaving the top half exposed. i then use truck bed coating spray and spray about 2-3 layers. i used the trunk bed coating for its strength and it can take the heat. regular paint will eventually chip off from road debris. this way the top half of the lens is covered keeping all that extra light from blinding oncoming drivers. before you do this take a few layers of tape and mock it up at night so that you can make sure you get the beam pattern your looking for before you paint up the fogs
that all being said i highly suggest you go with the regular halogen bulbs. if you like the yellow fog lights like i do you can order some h3 yellow halogens online.
