1983 Honda Magna V45 Power Issue, help
Hey, I just bought the for-mentioned motorcycle. While driving it I felt little power and was shocked on account of everything I had heard about it. Well in the middle of a short ride there was a click and it suddenly had immense power. It has happened to me twice and I was hoping on getting some input. Thanks
it's a little difficult to assess from afar. I do know these bikes are plenty powerful and extremely smooth given the generation in which the bike was made. you may have a coil issue(or something as simple as a ground issue), but really I would need to get my hands on it to really say for sure.
I had heard the same thing, witch is why i was a little shocked when it barely got up there. But let me tell ya when it clicked and got power I was going 45 and shot up to 75 in barely a moment.
45 inches is a little less than 750cc... the bike was more known for it's smooth delivery and ability to log LONG miles while still being comfortable. the 65 or 1100 was the real brute, but was still not a VMAX
From what I've read it has 748 cc, so its not down by much. It was after the 84 model when they started tuning them down to 700. Unless I'm mistaken of course.
Well, from about ten different sites i figure it is the diaphragms in the carb. Which wouldn't shock me considering its thirty years old. So I get to take the carbs of and try and fix the diaphragms.
