J-type 6 speed conversion!
I have a 99 with the J30A1 and I am very much interested in replacing the defunct B7XA 4 speed automatic transmission with a 6 speed, preferably from an 03 CL, as my research shows that this is the most compatible for the conversion I am planning.
Anyone know of someone who may have said transmission they are looking to get rid of? Any helpful tips from anyone who have performed either this, or similar, conversions?
Thank you.

v 6 performance.com and 6thgenaccord.com
These 2 sites have info on the 6 speed swap onto a J30A1.
You can also use the 04-06 6-speed tranny from Acura TL-s, has LSD. Engine housing changed in 2007 so 07-08 trannys won't mount up.
...or you can use the 03-07 Accord 6 speeds with NO LSD.
You are going to need a special in cabin harness made by RichieV6. The automatic ECU needs some special wiring to work with the manual set up.
Send him an email telling him what you are doing and he'll hook you up. Ain't cheap, but it is a proven product.

there is also a section on 6GA.com that has all, if not most, of the items/part numbers you need for a complete swap. join up and ask around after you read up, its a cool site.

Thanks, man! I'm really looking forward to doing this conversion. It will be really beneficial in the long run; I feel that the capital invested will be well worth it. I'll take a look at the info, do you know off-hand if I'll need to create a shift linkage with those transmissions, or if there is one existing that I'll be able to use?

ehhh, not quite sure as I use automatic due to paraplegia.
As far as I know there is no fabrication required. Everything mounts up. But there may be some drilling required in the firewall for the pedal assembly and stuff. And, couple of little things that you gotta do... most if not all of the info is on those 2 sites.
If you have any questions along the way, post em up and members will chime in or point you in the right direction.
right now, 6thgenaccord.com is more active than v 6 performance.com for your 6 speed swap, a few of the guys have done them recently or are in the process.
