What is the best setup to put in I was thinking a B18 with a turbo

 

depends on how much horsepower u r looking to get

B18b1 man. With turbo! Like 7psi for a dd

 

buy a vette.
you couldn't build let alone drive a del sol capable of keepin up with vettes.

 

Theres a Del Sol on Youtube that eats lambo's all day.

I'd suggest a B18c5 + Turbo + Good Tune.

 

If you have to ask then you can't build it nor afford it.

If you want: a light wallet, constant headaches, breakdowns, ebay shipping times, fuel consumption, dyno costs, tuning costs, or a blown engine....then a turbo is for you.

If you want: a bit extra power, simple problem diagnosis, good fuel economy, and cheap parts ...then swap in a factory engine.

It's not about hp and it's not about "hunting vets", it's about a car that you have to drive (most likely everyday) that needs to be reliable and manageable when something breaks. If you need other peoples input on what engine you want, you're probably not ready for a swap.

Even guys in vettes know to back off when they see parts like these. Be warned though power of this magnitude comes with great responsibility.

 

100% agree. I'm of course referring to many turbo owners who end up with a blown engine from cheap parts failing or improperly built engines.

However, with a post like this to start the engine deciding process... the words "doing it right" don't immediately spring to mind.

 

People have diffrent opinions, the best one would be yours
Just do research on all Honda motors, find the one you like and go for it

We would help out more if we know your budget and or how much experience you have

Anytime you see the word "best" in the thread title or post you can guarantee no real thought has been placed into the question that follows it.

 

i agree with grumblemarc if want a turbo and you do it right the 1st time and dont go the cheap way you wont have any problems thats what i did on my dd and im still good

I've done many engine swaps but this is my first that i want to turbo I'm building the engine to take a turbo I was just seeing what people would say. When this car is all done it will be awd cause I'm putting the trans and rear end out of a 98 crv in it. Ya say what you want it is a lot of work i don't care all it is time and money

 

Sounds Fun. Makes me want to put one of my Del Sol shells on my Zuki Samurai and just drive over Vettes in the parking lot with the mighty carbureted G13A.

 

Do yourself a huge favor, and start with the AWD conversion first. It's a major headache. If you're serious about a project like this, and not just fantasizing, do it in steps, so when things go wrong, you have an easier time diagnosing problems.

you do know whats involved in an AWD conversion right? i mean you have to ask what the best swap in a del sol is. plus i have no idea HOW you're going to fit all of this under a del sol. im sure it can be done but not at all with amateur mechanic skills.

if you really want an AWD vette smoker buy an evo, audi, or STI. all of those would probably be cheaper and less hassle then doing it to a del sol.
