Hey guys, my civic likes to kinda shut itself off in a way while im driving and its cold, and recently its been doing this after it gets warmed up too.

While im driving all of a sudden i willl loose all power and if i take my foot off and put it back on the gas the engine starts moving the car again. It wasn't constantly when it was cold, just somtimes. But the other day it did this after driving for awhile the engine was warmed up, and after taking my foot off and putting it back on the gas nothing happened, but i heard the intake suck air into the engine just no engine power, after a few pedal push's the engine kicked back on and started going. And the check engine light came on.

Hope thats not too confusing. But if anybody knows what this could be it would help me alot, i just lost my job so i cant just start replacing stuff not knowing if thats really whats wrong

 

Are you able to get ahold of code readings?

Goto Wal-mart (or any place that allows refunds on electronics), buy a OBD1/OBD2 Code reader.

 

Sounds like could be a coil or igniter
