Default b20vtec help!

ok i think ive spent 3 days reading through the threads, still unsure... at my disposal i have everything i need to make either build..i have a b16a head a b20b bottom end and a complete gsr motor...im not shooting for the stars here im goin for 200-250 na horsepower, gonabe set up more for autox type drivin just for fun nothing serious and this is tryna be a sorta budget build..not cuz it has to be just not lookin to make 500hp so figured it shouldnt take alot...i was set on b20vtec setup with itbs but apperntly alot of people frown on the setup because the b20 is not made to reach high enough rpms....i would love the torque though im not a 9k rpm shifter but would like a good 8k or so...any input on a decent setup with what i have...(also willing to purchase internals for compression) give me some ideas please i need some legit direction for a reliable build thanks !!

Get pistons from a B20z (high comp), ARP rod bolts and ARP head studs. And new bearings obviously. Vtec oil and water pumps with vtec timing belt. There's your budget/reliable setup.

b16 pistons are only 81mm b20 block is 84mm...dnt see that working but i could be wrong, another problem i have is i have a toda/ferra valvetrain i could use in the head but idk what kind of bottom end i would have to build to even turn the cams, they are toda spec c's and ferra flat faced valves toda dual valvesprings and cam gears

Sorry, i misread the post. My fault.

You'll just need to upgrade your rod bolts. Get some ARPs, since it does sound like you are trying to save money. Dont cut corners on important things.

Upgrade rod bolts
Upgrade head studs and main bolts.
The top end seems like a good built, it will not make 250whp, but it should do 200-220whp pretty easily. Upgrading the rod bolts will allow for you to rev as high as you need to.

yea plan on arp studs and bolts everything and acl bearings regardless...prolly higher compression pistons to...i say budget but im tryna keep it under 1500 for the motor build basicaly...take into fact i already have the toda cams valvesprings ect i didnt plan on using them but i may, i just thought a build big enuf for those cams would run 2500+ on parts from research
