Help...How to take off speedo gear b16 hydro tranny
First time dealing with tranny. I have a stock b16 tranny and putting in a mfactory lsd. Already tore the tranny apart and I'm going to be reusing the stock diff ring gear and speedo gear except i have no clue how to take the speedo gear off the stock diff. Any help?
You don't have a local store that sells tools? Autozone. Advance Auto? Tractor Supply Co? Sears? You can purchase them online, too. You could pay a machinist to pull it off. A 2-jaw puller (or a 3-jaw that can be converted to a 2-jaw) will work best.

Just don't follow his method of removing ring gear bolts. If the ring gear had shifted, you'll ruin every single one removing them one at a time the whole way out. Loosen each one a little at first, then you can pull them all out without damaging the actual threads that contact the diff.

very carefully, doesnt take much to break. MR.johnson's got the key. I didnt heat my first one up and looked forever to find another after i broke mine. I heated it up putting it on too with some ATF on the mating surfaces. Good luck!
Large Bearing splitter turned upside down.
When putting it and diff bearings on, a STEEL pie pan placed on a electric plate or top of propane space heater.
