Default Radiator Help/Advice

Hey all....been running a PWR half-size radiator in the R for the past 4 years. I have the Full-Race Air Conditioner manifold, GT35R. Many of you know, but I primarily use the car for track (road race) purposes. First off wanted to see if there is a better radiator I should be using....always considered PWR good, but haven't read up on radiators in a few years.

I am going to heat wrap the manifold and downpipe this year with some HeatSheild product, do a Lava turbo blanket. But I wanted to look into a different radiator.

I might consider putting my stock R radiator back in b/c I measured and it looks like it'll fit with a SPAL 13" slim fan.

Anyone know any other full size radiators that'll work with that setup and the SPAL 13" HP fans? If not, is there a better half size radiator out there than PWR that might keep my coolant temps lower?

The pwr is a good unit. Does the car still have air conditioning? If not then you can run an afermarket VW Scirocco radiator up under the radiator support to give you more surface area. It will be equivalent to running a full sized stock radiator just sized so it will fit inside the rad support.

Yea I'm keeping my AC. Getting ready to make some custom lines myself actually so I can make some space up there. I might just keep the PWR and see if wrapping and the turbo blanket is enough to keep temps below 215 for an entire session. It's not going above 220 now with water and water wetter...but I still can only make 12ish mins of a 20 mins session before needing to back off.

yeah thats alot of heat with turbo and autocross. Wrap the manifold and downpipe and turbo blanket will drastically reduce under hood temps and should help with heatsoak. Also make sure nothign is touching the radiator its self. finally if you have enough space put a heat shield on the side of the radiator to deflect heat as much as possible away from the radiator.

Yea I guess I will just have to see how the wrap and blanket do. If my coolant temps are still getting too hot it'll be back to the drawing board.

My coolant temps from heat soak would go up to 220just normal driving and some boosting. After wrapping do and manifold and turbo blanket they stay around 199-204 with long distance and ac running and boosting
