rattle of heatshields
did you do any mods recently when you started hearing it. When you find the problem see if you can bend it, if its going to too much of a problem remove it.
my guess its the cat. rattleing. 2 ways to fix it, remove it, or get some adjustable metal rings that you can get at a hardware store and wrap it around the cat. tightly. (that is if it is the cat.)
take off all heat shields, and replace your stock header -- the a-pipe is known to crack internally and vibrate, causing the ~3000 rpm buzz.

I had the same problem. I removed all of the heat shields except for the one connected to the back of my stock exhaust manifold, which turned out the be the one that was rattling...go figure. You CANNOT remove that thing without taking off the entire manifold...trust me. Just get a new header, it'll be kinda like a 2 for one deal...
