how do you check for a clogged cat
First you'll notice that they start getting fater and there won't be any poo in the litter box. After that, I say take it to a vet.

Yeah, you should be able to see though a catalytic converter when held up to a light. Atleast mine was like that brand new, dunno if it still works on a used one.
From my experience you'll be cruising along just fine. Decide to hit VTEC and the car just bogs to death and won't take any gas. Limp it home so slow the speedometer isn't even registering because it won't take any gas.
you probably have old broken down gas in the tank.
I dont know if you can add stablizer to gas that is already bad.
Try taking out the old gas and filling up with new. Throw in some Clean Power while you are at it.

With this tester you can check and balance fuel injectors. Also tests fuel injector coil windings under load; detects intermittent fuel injector coil faults; and features adjustable current output. Same as Kent-Moore J-39021-22.
Works on both throttle body (TBI adapter included) and multi-port fuel injectors.
Only $224 http://www.ontool.com/store/product/...1/7002/7002/-1
You can also send your injectors to RC to have them cleaned and balanced since your car is not being used now.
