Default B16 transmission with boost...

I am suiting up for my b16 build...about to order the 'silver surfer' from 'the shodan'

Thanks for recommending him fellas!

Anyways...to the point! I know its been discussed before but I have been doing research and found a lot of folks saying the b16 is good!

I have also read/heard that putting an LS 3rd and 5th in would be "better"

Anyways here is one post I found...its the one I found that most justifies using the b16 trans...its kind of old and that is why I am kind of 're-asking'

Nope. using that would actually decrease your acceleration rate for street use. Keep your B16 as it is , and you'll be just fine.

Hey Shodan!! Whats up man! lol.....thanks for the input!! Yeah...I have found more folks saying "use the b16 trans" but most of what I found was old! And I know times change along with tech and knowledge.

Talk to you soon!

I guess it's all preference. I'm really glad I switched from the B16 trans to the LS. I was running through the gears way too fast (well, faster then I am now), and I hated how high the RPMs were on the highway. Also hated having to shift into 5th right before the traps in the 1/4.

Yeah I hear you Darry...however I do VERY little hwy driving. Maybe once a month at most. I have a company car and a truck and those are what I drive mostly...the hatch will be mostly a weekend cruiser/bruiser and a few track visits here and there

your goal is to cross top of 4th, whatever trans gets you there. also keep in mind if you want to turn up the power

If this is a track only car then sure the B16 trans will be fine. But if you're going to daily this thing you're going to despise the B16 trans.
