d15b7 with 4spd tranny, what clutch and flywheel? Searched!
I tried searching but couldnt get a solid answer. I plan on swapping a d15b7 (b7/z6) mini me into my 91 std hatch. i also plan on using the 4spd tranny. my question is, what clutch and flywheel will i have to use? i want to save money since its just a daily. is it possible for me to use the clutch/flywheel from the 4spd??
If you have the tranny out you can count the teeth on the shaft. Also on the tip there will either be no ring, one ring, or two rings......I cant remember what exact years but if I remember correctly 2 rings is 91+, one ring is 89 -90, and no ring is pre 89.......dont quote me but I believe that's how it is. My four speed had two rings and I cant remember the tooth count but I used a clutch and pressure plate from a 92 civic. As far as flywheels you'll have to make sure the diameter is correct for the clutch to grasp....and just count the teeth on the flywheel. Wish I could give you a more dominant answer but if it's already out the car it wouldnt take but five minutes to do all that.
I totally misread your post.....yes you can use the clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel from your four speed but just make sure you use the same starter ect.
What clutch you use depends entirely on the year of the transmission. You can simply use the clutch and flyweel from the 4 speed transmission if it's still in good shape.
