Just got the Khumo Supra 712s, but...
it seems the steering wheel tends to shift to the left n once and a while do a short twitch at speeds of 75 and up...
i got an alignment n balance with them.. brought the car back and they rebalanced the tires...
could it be too much steering fluid.. the guy said when u buy new tires, sometimes u might need to have some taken out...

mine does that, me thinks its just the tire grabbing the road, i went from a 195/55/15 to a 205/45/16 so im guessing the bigger tire grips better than the POS stock...i dunno im just taking a wild guess.
Where did you get the Kumhos and for how much? I noticed that you're from New Haven as well and I'm in need of some new tires for my stock rims. I just moved here from Cali a month ago so I'm not familiar with any of the shops around New Haven. Thanks man...
kumho's suck in the rain, i'm talking from personnal experience, but the kumho 711's are excellent in the rain but they only come h rated so turns at speed give a lil more tire chirpin then v or z rated tires.

How many miles do you have on your 712s? Mine had a "greasy" feel like what you're describing for the first 150-200 miles. After that they wear into your car and feel very planted, even at triple digit speeds.
I think the 712s are just ducky in the rain. Then again, I don't push my car when it's wet outside...I don't know why anyone would.

They're decent in the rain once you get them broken in a bit. Huge leap over that stock Michelin junk.
i don't know about anyone else, but i've had my kumho's for a while now and I don't like them. they are horrible in the rain....and not the best on dry pavement either, i'm gonna look into something else, perhaps the new yoko's
The rain performance falls off as they wear down. Decent tire for the $$$, nothing more. The Yoko Parada spec 2s seem pretty good, for only a bit more $$$.
I dont have any problems in the rain with mine. The only reason they pull sometimes is because of the road. It happenes to me all the time and it used to be bad. Never road on low profile tires before and thought something was wrong with the car
. Anyhow, after I installed a strut tower bar on it, its been doing the samething but not as hard. Its almost unnoticable but its there.

I don't know if that twitch in the rear is from the Kumho's. I have a set then replaced the rears w/ P7000 Super Sports. better than the Kumho's but still twitching. I think personnelly though that the Kumho are VERY road sensitive. bang for the buck tire though.
I heard the the Hankook tires, the Ventus is a lot better than the 712's plus it's a little more like $5.00 or so. So I've been told.

i think the twitching is just because our cars' steering is so damn light that ridges and dips in the pavement will cause the wheels to turn to follow the "flow" of the road. but i agree...it's very annoying and sometimes makes you wonder if you need an alignment...especially if your camber sucks *** like mine used to.
I agree. You'll know for sure if it changes with road conditions. My car gets really twitchy on the gorgeous MI highways at 80+ MPH. Yuck. Then I go on a drive with nice new highways(mostly outside MI), and it's a completely different experience. Much smoother.
I'll fourth this. My Teg loves to grab bumbs and dips. Riding in truck ruts is always entertaining.
I think it's a combination of wider tires and the Teg's quick steering. It has done this with three sets of tires (although it was less pronounced with the stock-sized snows). Nohmal, as we say here in the great white north...

I have no steering problems at high speeds at all after 25k miles, and the rain performance is awesome if you ask me...especially in the turns. I can take turns "normal," unlike most of my friends.
I still hate them though.
I noticed that the wider patch made steering sloppy overall...with the soft-*** sidewall contributing to the sloppiness. As for the steering fluid...I hear that you can take half of it out of the reservoir and it will be a bit tougher to steer, but you will get more feedback and it won't feel as "light" anymore at higher speeds. The only downside I see to this is possibly damaging the power steering pump.

I don't have Kumho's but I do have rims and tires w/ a "V" tread pattern (Dunlop SP9000's and had Nitto NT450's b4)... I notice that when you accelerate/take off hard the steering wheel will kinda shift/steer to one side and it gets twitchy at higher speeds... also they love to track bad roads and such... I didn't have this problem when I had tires that weren't w/ the "V" pattern... after 2 sets of dunlops I think I'm used to it by now...
its called tracking, tires that have more grip than your previous tire will do that more noticeably. its just when the tire catches a groove in the road it wants to follow it. my azenis do it like crazy.
