Default 92-95 Civic VSS

I wanted to get rid of my speedometer cable and do an electronic VSS, so can I use the 92-95 Civic sensor in my 88-91 Cable transmission? Is it just power, ground and the output wire to the gauge cluster? On the stock cluster the cables goes to the gauge cluster and then the output wire goes to the ECU, is it the same thing on the electronic VSS clusters (from the sensor to the cluster, then to the ECU)? Thinking of using a 94+ Integra cluster, seems to fit pretty good with the 90/91 cluster cover. Anyother ones that fit decent? Maybe a S2K cluster if I can find one cheap enough.
