Okay so I know my way around a Honda pretty well but the other day my drivers side door wouldn't open on my 93' Accord. It's unlocked, tried both handles, key and power lock, won't open. So I took the other door apart to see the mechanism and what not but I can't get the door panel off the drivers side without breaking it. I can shine a flashlight down into the door, see through the window as it is inside the door and all the linkages are connected to the latch mechanism and are moving it.

Does anyone have any tricks of the trade as what I could try? At this point even if I do finagle/destroy the door panel off I won't be getting the latch mechanism off without a angle grinder either.

Doors are nice to have, many thanks.

The 91 accord LX 4 door i'm working on has the same challenges, looks like bad driver's door actuator, however so far I have not gotten the door open, I have released and pried the rear part of the door panel open a bit, and verified that all rods are still connected & move well.
I've also drilled a hole through the pillar's two walls & into the door jamb, guided by the available videos & forum threads that i've found ... no worky, i haven't guessed again and drilled more holes, until I find better info about the proper location to drill & release the door. Can anyone give measurements or an accurate description please?

 

The pictures are really as good as it gets. Just drill a large enough hole that you can get a punch in there and hit the release. This didn't work for me though and I knew what I was doing. I literally had to pry the door panel off with the door closed and go at the damn thing with a angle grinder, tin slip, and hammer. Took me 6 hours total and there was no latch left at all. Damn jtwellner, that's harsh! I'm not ready to go that far... yet, hopefully others will come through with more precise locating data or a different & better approach.
