for those of you with 5th gens know, that damn battery up front uses to much room. i was thinking of actually takeing the mounting plate and dropping it down, but leave it where it's at. has anyone thought of this? i would love to see some pics if anyone has done it.
just a suggestion...i've thought of this to use for the stereo system so the amps will be closer to the battery in the trunk. if i ever start on doing it, i would use the moroso battery relocation kit.
I have relocated my Battery, but I don't have any pics of it. I drilled two holes in the floor, got an optima red top, and battery hold down. Works great! I just need to re-do my piping for my filter off my turbo, it should work out great.
BTW- you are so correct with this statement. Everyone is always laughing at my alcheezas until I pull next to them and give them a little.....Whistle??

I relocated the battery on my friends 5th gen to make room for a filter coming off the turbo and an MSD system, not to hard, just remember that if you ground through your trunk floor, you will loose a lot of power to your starter, you should run a seperate ground cable to the engine bay for both engine and starter ground and be sure to use large enough cable for both the power and ground circuits, I would say 4 guage is the smallest you should go, I used 0 guage for both the power and grounds to the starter and engine bay.....oh yea....and if you are going to show the car or just want to make it easy, ad a quick disconecct to the battery ground terminal connector....it makes it easy

i really don't want to relocate it to the trunk if i can get around it, i was hoping to just modify the current location. if i put it in the trunk, i can't think of a good place to put it, if i put it on either side, i would feel obligated to add another to the other side, just to be symetrical. i still want the car to have some show to it as well, and i had plans for the trunk, i was planning on having a full size Racing Hart C5 spare under plexiglass, complemented by the 2 nitrous bottles in the trunk, for shows, but i can't come up with a nice way you mount a battery
i know it seems ricey, but you gotta have love for some show

to save space you can get 2 6 volt optima batteries and run them in series, the good thing about the 6 volters is that they are half the size of the 12 volters, so you can seperate them and be symetrical or hide them. another option is to get a Dynabat batery, they are small (about the size of one 6 volt optima) dry cell (which makes them light weight) batteries, but they are pretty expensive either way ...it's worth it to move them..
And my recomendation if you just move you regular battery to the trunk, is to mount it on the passenger side, it will help keep weight distrobution side to side close to stock (if you put it on the driver side it slightly pulls the car unless you get an alignment (it's heavier than it seems))

Dedfinatly worth it.
BTW, did u realize that you could mount that SS coil in the stock coil location? i saw it one a car last year, and it'd even looked cool as hell
