Which BB and MC with non ABS civic dx (eg)?
Hi HT I recently decided I'm goin to be upgrading my BB and MC from the stock in search of something larger. I'd prefer the USDM ITR setup but wasn't sure if the fact the ITR has ABS(which I'm not sure on, another reason I'm asking here) will adhere me from doing so. I have all wheel disc brakes and the car has stainless steel brake lines. All of those brake upgrades were done by the previous owner. the pedal has been soft since I bought the car. I noticed the previous owner used RTV to try and fix the stock BB so I'm wondering if my first step would be to fix that?
What's on it for front calipers? If they're stock DX calipers just get another DX MC and brake booster going with something like a 15/16s MC will only give you a rock hard pedal. However if it's got integra front brakes grab a '94 - '97 Integra RS MC and brake booster.
Yah they are stock DX but I took my car to a shop and they told me my firewall is rotted and my pedal is soft because the BB is actually moving into the firewall when I press the pedal. Thy told me it only needs some extra reinforcement and should be fine? Idk we will see I'm skeptical about they're conclusion, I've never heard of anything like that
I'm not saying it couldn't happen but I've never seen a firewall rot on one of these cars and I live in Atlantic Canada where we use a ton of road salt.
