Default Jdm B16A all motor build questions -- Valve Train + Cams All Motor

I have a Jdm B16A and Im going to be doing an all motor build. I was going to just get a skunk2 stage 1 cam or blox stg 1 and combine it with supertech valves, valve springs and retainers. However with doing some reading people have said its better to go with matching brands like blox w/ blox cams or s2 cam with s2 valvetrain.. etc etc. I could do the s2 valvetrain, just means I would be saving up for another couple months.

Im not looking for some insane hp all motor build, I just want something to be a good dd and fun to drive, but will be able to hold up to the abuse.

Just seeing what you guys would recommend? (I know s2 cams w/ s2 valvetrain would probably be the best, what are other good combinations)

I also have brand new CTR pistons w/ rings and rod bearings i will be putting in as well.

You should match your cams and valve train. Id look for some skunk2 tuner 2s

Okay, Yeah.. thats what i was thinking everyone was going to say. I've heard supertech valves tend to float, and havnt heard much about blox internals other then that the Cams are decent.

Im also pairing this up with a junk2 intake manifold and throttle body mated with a whale ***** that i got a really good deal on, golden eagle fuel rail and an aem fpr, itr header and a fabb'd 2.5 exhaust. Should end up being a fun dd

the fpr might be useful but not likely.

uhh i wouldn't run blox anything ever. might as well go with the original(skunk2).

you'd be fine to run supertech springs/retainers/keepers with whatever valves. id just use OEM valves.
otherwise i'd do the best you could to match the VT to the cams.

After looking through the Forums, It appears that sk2 is probably the best/reliable. Looks like thats what i will be doing, Only ill be going with the Tuner Series.

Also, For Cam Gears, Would it be okay to go with Buddy Club Cam Gears? instead of sk2?
