I bought and installed a used comptech header for my 99 civic si. It bolted up fine and runs fine as far as I can tell. Here is the question. I recently took it to smog and the smog man told me that the header is meant for a d16 and I did not pass the visual test. I did some research and I found that the header for d16 should not bolt up to my b16. So is the smog man lying to get me to pay for a second smog or is it possible that I really have a d16 header on my SI? Is there a way or website for me to find out which engine it belongs to?

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

you have the right header.

go ask him how he's going to bolt up a d16 header on b16. silly smog guy.

 

d series dont fit b series. u he prolly running too strong or too weak with the new/used part u bought.
