2012 Honda Accord LX Problem
Hi,
I just purchased a NEW "Automatic" 2012 Honda Accord LX. I noticed something strange occur the other day.
I was driving the vehicle up the hill to where I live and I saw an open parking spot that I just passed. So I stopped, (The car is still in D at this time) and I let my foot off the brake - the car coasted down hill a bit - but it didnt get far because the engine STALLED out.
I admit I should have put it in R or even N for that matter but I've done this with other vehicles which either don't coast downhill while in D or they do and do not shut off.
Is this a feature of Honda? Does anyone know? Someone familiar with the Honda engine/transmissions?

Honda automatics have always done this, as far as I know. My 92 would roll backwards on an incline, and so does my 03. I try to avoid it as much as possible. Honda automatics are different.
ya, but did it stall out and die as well?
I test drove another honda accord 2012 at another dealer to see if it too did the same thing... and it did!!
so i guess it isn't just my car.
