Default vtec oil pres sensor voltage

I am getting vtec malf code. My manual lists voltage to the sensor should be approx 12, i get about 9. Is that adequate or low enough to cause a problem?

A P1259? Have you checked the oil level?

What was the resistance on the solenoid?

Yes definitely check oil level, but probably even more important, oil pressure. The 9 volts may not be enough, there could be voltage dropping at some point in that circuit causing a problem.
