hello. i'm a civic owner, but am asking this for a friend at work. he has a 5th gen prelude and would like to convert his slush box to a manual transmission. can anyone recommend a good shop for such a job in colorado? denver or colorado springs would be best. also, does anyone have a suggested good price that he should pay for parts and labor? thanks in advance.
I think the general consensus is that he should sell his auto and buy a manual Prelude.
It's cheaper and probably faster to do it that way.

i would reccomend if he isnt doing the swap him self...... then he should just sell the auto and buy a manual.
Assuming there arnt a lot of wrecked 5G Preludes.. parts are going to be expensive.. buying them all brand new. and Labor cost is gonna eat his wallet
I did a auto to 5spd conversion on my maxima worked out great.. and only cost me 700 dollars for new clutch kit.. and old tranny with ALL parts. I was lucky to even find a wrecked maxima that had everything on it still.. and thats rare. and thats why I did the swap.
Over all its easier and more sound (reliability issues) to just get a 5spd :D

he definitely won't be doing the swap himself. i imagine sourcing the neccessary parts would be difficult. he was considering getting a different car that was faster until i convinced him to just try some bolt-ons. he got a aem cold air intake and is hooked!! i think that's why he's so adament about keeping his specific car. however, i think i've now got him convinced that it's going to be a waste of time and money to go through with the swap; so he should just sell it and buy a manual prelude or work with what he's got. thanks for your help guys!!
