Default Car Overheating, Fan not working... Help!

Yesterday my Si overheated. Checks revealed that the fan wasn't coming on. Tried to bridge the fan switch (paper clip or copper wire method). Still nothing. Ran a wire from the connector right by the fan to the battery and it came on. I would think the fan switch is dead in this case right?

If the the "jumping" method didn't work with the paper clip...I don't think it would be the fan switch. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Either way...you can replace it anyways...they are only like 10 bucks.

or just run a switch from inside the cabin directly to your fan. do it on all of my cars, like second nature now.

If you jumped the connector, then you have a fuse, relay or wiring issue.

Check fuses and relay first. Also check the fan itself see if the wiring is ok, maybe cut etc.

Also, when you jumped it, did you turn the key to the number 2.
