S2000 trade for ITR - Thoughts
Hey I have an S2000 and was thinking of trading for an ITR, what are your thoughts on this? Bad decision, good decision?
I LOVED my ITR and although I love the S2000 I feel that I can drive more and enjoy it almost the same. Both would be a second car so theft isn't really an issue.
Thoughts?
Attached is a pic of my S2000 for reference.

gorgeous car, but s2ks are a dime a dozen, I wouldn't trade my mint 01' for it
Pro of s2k.....more mature car, rwd, convertible, not a major theft target
pro of ITR....has more soul....rare.....more of a connected road feel...wing adds MASSIVE downforce
That being said I'm sure someone on here would be interested. If I were you I wouldn't consider it unless the R was <100k, clean title, accident free

I'm hoping to make this same switch. I've got an ITR in my sight but can't pull the trigger until the weekend. I remember being much happier behind the wheel of the ITR.
Keep the s2000 it's a better car all around. The only downside if their is one would be the drop top, however that can be seen either way depending on your use of it.

I have both cars, and think I would keep the S2000 if both cars were stock. However my modified all-motor ITR is a blast to drive,
so I'm glad I don't have to choose between them.
The theft issue is almost as severe with either car. If your S2000 is clean w/ nice stock seats, one of the many thieves out there will remove them for you at some point if you DD the car. Neither of these cars are good daily drivers due to the potential theft issues. I don't drive the ITR much on the street, and when I do it's never out of my sight for more than a couple minutes. I only drive the S2000 to places that I know will have secure parking available. That's a very nice looking S2K by the way!

Hahahahhaahaha that deserves the "Quote of the Day" award!
>Both cars are a blast in their own ways.
>Both have pros and cons like any car choice would.
>You've owned both.
>You've enjoyed both.
Should you trade isn't the question you should be asking. The real question is, why are you even questioning?
Doesn't the FACT that you're making a thread about this decision indicate what you REALLY want? I think deep down inside, underneath the love you have for your S2OOO, you miss the Integra Type R.
The FACT that you're even considering trading a newer, slightly faster, convertible RWD sports car for a FWD 15+ year old econobox stuffed with 90's boy racer technology, boldly states you want back behind the wheel of an ITR like a 50 year old wants to relive his prom night hook-up!

I think that I enjoy driving my S2000 a lot more than my R. On track and on the street. Both are modded, but the S2000's combination of power, sound, and drop top ability makes it a winner in my eyes.
The ITR is definitely a "cooler" car than the S2000 since it's so much more rare and sought after. Base model S2000s really are a dime a dozen.
Having said all that, I'm really happy I don't have to choose...but if one car had to go, it'd be the R.

I have both and the s2k is a 05, i dd it and it's stock. My itr is a 98 track only 500whp beast that is on jack stands for 98% of its life lol. There are literally NO s2k's in southern ontario so the car seems rare and exotic to people. I've only seen 2 this year on the road. Can u have both???
I'm having a tough time deciding between these two as well. There is a 05 S2k near me for sale with 14k miles on it. I'd have to travel a ways to look at a itr. Still I have a desire to own a type r more..

i would def. how often do u see a real itr and how often do u see a s2k? all depends on prefference though. just have a garage or one hell of a way for it not to get stolen.

iv driven a itr along with a em1 and many many other front wheel drive hondas.. and the s2000 has a way different and better road feel then any ff honda i driven before... i love the itr as much as u do ... but the s2000 is feels like a Go Kart...
Since S2000's were no longer made, I added an '11 MX-5 to the stable a few months ago. I looked hard for a mint low-mileage S2000, but I couldn't find one that I liked so I went with the new MX-5.
From my test-driving experiences and my previous history with the S2K, it does feel a bit "heavier" and less-connected than the ITR (the MX-5 as well). It's a good 300lbs heavier though, so that's to be expected.
I disagree with the go-cart statement. The S2K is too portly for that, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't handle well. It just doesn't feel like a go-cart.
