I drive a 94 Honda Accord, how would I easily check the idle air control valve in order to see if it needs to be replaced

 

Usually the car runs rough with a dirty or faulty idle air control valve. The best way to check for proper working of this valve is to pull it off from the throttle body and perform a resistance test to check that the valve resistance and the voltage.

 

if you dont have fast idle problems, high idle, or idle hunting then its fine.

 

I have had the same problem & was able to clean the IAC valve with throttle body cleaner.

 

my 97 Accord idles at 500 sometimes and is usually rough. Would this be an IACV related issue?
