Default Quick oil pan question b20 vs b16

ok someone help put this into perspective. I was out in my garage today looking under my car and thought that oil pan sits pretty low!

I remembered I am using a b20 oil pan I cant remeber the code but could easily get it! I had used this because it came with the turbo kit and it is mated to my Jdm SiR engine. (it is noticably larger than the oem one and sits lower)

so my engine takes more oil, but how much more right? when I have the oil pressure gauge it should help but right now I dont have one.

how do i measure? I am still using the same dipstick. now if you think about it the full line is the full line weather the pan has more oil in the bottom or not right? but what about differences in pressure anything to worry about?

long read. thanks.

full is full on the stick
pressure is no diffrent at all
only thing to worry about is the oil pickup
is it the correct pickup for the pan as it might not reach low enough

nah man I just slapped this pan on there. I am using the same stick, so the oil level will be the same I figure and the pickup will just have extra oil low down :s

im trying not to put money in taping my b16 one but have been thinking about it since more oil = more money over time

but if you have b20 deep pan and b16 pick up its to short to reach all the extra oil in the bottom if needed

well i really need this sorted out if thats the case or not.... theres really about 1" deeper or so... but the oil level above the deepness would still be the same as the old pan.

ugh!

yeah but your pick up will not reach under the baffles, so it's easier for your oil to slosh away from you pickup (as it's not surrounded by baffles)

I don't think he wants to listen to anyone and he keeps answering his own question

YES you still fill it to read full on the dipstick. NO you should not run this pan with a b16 oil pickup. Change the pan back to a b16 pan or change the oil pickup to b20
