Default Best Way to Clean Cylinder Head?

So im making some progress on my first turbo build, just purchased a gsr cylinder head with upgraded springs, retainers, valves, etc. It was shipped without a valve cover obviously and there were some pieces of cardboard from the packing inside the head. Was just wondering what the best way to clean it out would be. I've read somewhere about putting it in the dishwasher but for some reason it doesnt sound like a good idea.

so whats the best household way to clean it?
or am i better off taking it to get hot tanked?

Suggestions?

thanks in advance

Hot tanked would most likely yield the nicest results but, it costs money. Lol at the dishwasher method. Pressure washer, garden hose and whatever you have around the house will still get the job done.

Any possible headwork?

Any idea on how much it usually costs to hot tank a head? also the valves and springs and everything is still in the head, they shouldnt be affected by cleaning with water or anything right?
