OH MY LORd the nut on my rear upper ca snapped
Its the right-hand bolt out of the two holding the top of the rear upper control arm. It's just spinning freely, pretty sure the welded nut inside the frame snapped off. I'm going to try a rivet nut unless anyone thinks its a bad idea. I don't want to cut the frame.
Mostly I'm just furious and wanted to share this but I'm open to any helpful advice.

You know what I might be glad I had this problem just so I could find out about rivet nuts. These are so damn cool I needed them

No, not sure why you thought it would.
if the bolt is spining freely, the impact wont do anything except spin it faster.
You can try that rivet nut crap, but it wont be cheap.
or, cut the head of the bolt off. remove the othe bolt of for the uca. remove that.
Cut hole get new nut, or use old one, re weld it. Put the peice you cut out, weld that back, get a new bolt, put anti seize on that, and reinstal everything.

I had this happen to me. It took me a few hours of painstaking using paper clips and a magnetic pickup tool to get the nut in the right spot for the bolt to thread in again. I tightened that sucker down and i'm never taking that bolt off again. Good luck you're probably going to be going crazy trying that, but it's possible.

I can see the nut through a small hole underneath it in the frame that I slightly enlarged with ma drill but i can't fit a wrench in there
