Default Civic EG B18 budget swap?

Hey guys, i am looking to get a eg and do a b18 turbo swap, i want to make around 300hp or enough to keep up with and beat some sti's and evo's. I am new to honda's and trying to get into the game, but idk what ill need or where to get it from. With the swap do i need to do my transmission, axles, etc.? Can someone maybe give me a list and point me in the right direction.

Define the budget.
Can't do anything without that.
Your motivation for the project is kinda on the juvenile side though.

$1,500? Not gonna happen. I almost busted out laughing. Unless you have a lot of hookups you won't get it with twice that when all is said and done.

And this is juvenile.

No one will take you seriously with goals like that. How'd you come up with 300hp?

Your motivation should be in the quality of your build/project not so you can keep up with sti's in a straight line.

ok maybe i explained myself wrong, my goal is to buy a eg hatch project, ive been wanting to get into the honda game for a while now and i am just trying to plan everything out first. I am not looking to make this a track or drag car, i am looking to build a car i can have fun with, a weekend driver that i can take out and drive, go to car meets, and cruise and fool around with my friends (who have evo's and sti's). and i just threw the number 1500 out there, i guess what i am looking for is...what is the cheapest way i can do a b turbo swap the right way...?

If you don't have a clue then neither do I. Prices vary depending on how resourceful you get and what area you live in. Prices will also vary if you're trying to buy a complete turbo kit or are going to piece one together. In either case all I can tell you is to do your own research and do come comparison shopping. NO one can spoonfeed you anything on turbocharging a car. Read everything you can onteh subject. If you don't feel like learning about boost then that means all you want to do is go fast.

If all you want to do is go fast just get a kit off of Ebay and slap it onto your swap because you've already let the cat out of the bag that all you want to do is street race.

1500$ won't go anywhere. All that will do is afford for a b series swap!! Just saying

Well depending on where you live, maybe but no really do able. At least an LS swap with trans ecu and motor I seen was $600-700 high milege. Ebay turbo kits are junk but cheap. I know you want to build your car, build it the right way. It may take you years to build the right car. I remeber awhile back someone posted their teal hatch with ls motor and turbo stock engine running high 11's.

Do you want to go fast? Or make 300whp?

There's a difference. 300whp is arbitrary.

And besides, you won't be racing and Evo's and Sti's. They're almost always going to be in a different class than you. And aside from that, you wouldn't want to be in a class with them either.

A lot of people are juvenile in that they want to make their econoboxes fast and live life 1 quarter mile on the freeway at a time.

Watch the language. Not necessary.

If you're just going to throw out random numbers, wouldn't it have been easier to throw out a random $10,000? You could build anything you wanted then!!

A real budget will help us help you. Being less vague will also help.

I think Liberteriat's signature says it best.

Just do what you're going to do anyway, since nothing any of us says will do any good.

Those are very conservative numbers, figure more like double that for a turbo kit (and even then you could spend a whole lot more) Sometimes you can find an LS swap for a grand, but again, it's a little on the conservative side. $300 - $500 is about right for a tune. You're also leaving out misc item like a clutch (figure $300 or so there) an exhaust, gauges, wideband, etc.

This is why you're not being taken seriously. It sounds like a big daydream and no one wants to buy into it with you. If you don't even have the car yet then look for one already swapped. Then research your "turbo project". You'll see how complicated and in depth turbocharging a car actually is.
