P2U5 on 96' Prelude H22A1?
I'm going to pick up a P2U5 from a 94 Honda Accord VTEC and supposedly it will fit. What do you guy's think of using that transmission on the h22a1? I think I will need to adjust the vtec since the gear ratios aren't dialed in as much as the h22a1 transmission is. Like when You rev the P2U5 to 7,500rpm in first, and hit second what will the rpm's be at? Also does honda offer MTF in synthetic? I'm thinking of running 75w90 full synthetic in the P2U5 to conserve the synchro's. I'm running 75W90 in my prelude right now and it's way smoother and quicker than the honda mtf stuff. The honda MTF none synthetic mineral oil shift nice when cold but once it heats up there is a lot of friction in the gears. The 75W90 shifts a little rough when cold but shifts like butter when warm and the car scoots around more effortlessly. The none synthetic mtf gets hot and doesn't protect hardly at all. My main question is with the RPM's and speed on my h22a1. I want to make sure that when I rev to redline and shift will the engine still be in VTEC? or does it have to crack in again? Because that would really suck.
Thanks

Look in the FAQ and compare the gear ratios, most Accord transmissions have stupid tall gears that make for bad acceleration.
Well That tranny has a 4th gear snapper here are the gears
P2U5 94-97 Accord EX 3.307 1.809 1.185 0.933 0.685 reverse 3.000 final drive 4.062.
My brother in law has it in his accord and it moves beats ls integras and it's stock with a stage 2 clutch that's it. I like 4th gear it's a snapper on it.
