Bought a 97 civic hx.... shortly after it threw a rod. Org owner is giving me a d15b7 after he fixes a bent valve.

My d16y8 block is gone along with oil pan crank etc... head was spared though.

If i use the d15b7 short block with a d16y8 head gasket and y8 head i can still retain my p28 ecu, and my wiring harness? Practically just swap out short blocks?
Retain the d16y8 timing belt and i should be golden.
anyone have any insight on this?
I dont need something fast. Im looking for reliable a to b go getter.
I dont wanna spend anymore than i have to.
Will this work?
