pr3
p30
p73

jdm p73 will give you the highest compression at around 12.5:1

I hear ya.. I have the b18a1 motor also.. Got a sweet deal on a b18c1 head, already has the golden eagle ls/vtec kit. and a skunk2 intake. Just trying to figure out how much of a pain this will be to install and if i should change pistons. Im pretty new to this.

It better be in working order then but I still recommend getting new valves and having them and the seats machined, and i would go with pr3 or p30 pistons, depending on your goals.

To the other guy, you can definitely build an LSVTEC for under 2g's. I'm building a fully built LSVTEC and I'm not going to be spending anymore than 1500 tops, you just gotta look for deals on here

This is correct. im doing the same thing. personally im not a fan of the skunk2 on a gsr head but thats just me. if i were you i would put the p30s in so you dont regret not doing it down the road. right now i have 650 into my head. that included the head, bare gsr manifold, vtec solenoid, distributor, cam seal, valve cover, milled enough to clean it up, valve job, hot tank, and media blasted the old valves. i bought it all from craigslist. im also hoping to keep it under 2 grand but i want jun 3s so might not be possible. anyways get the p30s hands down.

I don't think p73 will fit on an LS crank/rods. You will have to mill the rod about 1mm on each side. Get the p30s

The difference in compression ratio from p73 pistons (12.58) to jdm p30 pistons (12.52) is minimal. Get the p30s, they are cheap as ****

if you're already building the engine what's another couple dollars to have 1mm shaved off the ends?

I'm not a fan of skunk2 either lol.

Yea I spend a lot of time on here or craigslist looking for deals, I got my GSR head, complete with cams, intake manifold, tb, etc. Just had 2 bent valves, original price $250, but someone was going to buy it before me so I offered $300, still a deal.

And I just got new eagle rods with GE bearings for $150, now that's a straight steal.

^^ Yea I kinda worry too, but I onl y really buy from people with like 2,000+ posts, and always check their other posts for a vouch thread. The post count doesn't really mean anything, but I still would never buy off someone with 5 posts lol.

Yea majestic is the ****. Oversized pistons are same price too. Rings seperate tho. Still cheap and more reliable than aftermarket.
