What to put on my integra ls?
Hey I have a 96 Integra ls and I'm wanting to fix it up but don't know what direction to go or what to do to get maximum hp..i have about 4-5k to spend..what should I get? Specific parts please and thank you. I just want a good reliable setup that's gnna make me semi quick..nit looking to run super high boost or nothin'
Yea but what brand? I'm going from a v8 mustang to this so I dont know much about it yet. And my motors pretty healthy only got 115000 on the motor and I've already gotten it checked out so now just looking on what all to buy..

With a 5k budget, here's what I would do, rebuild of the bottom end, rods, pistons, bearings, ARP head studs, a mild port job and valve job on the head, new valve guides, 450cc injectors 255lph walbro fuel pump, a medium sized turbo something that would spool pretty quick, intercooler etc, and a very good tune. That should be below budget if you shop right.
I'm sure others with more experience will be here in a bit to go into detail with this thread, but theres my $.02, I'm still learning myself though

I would have mike laskey build ur bottom end only about 2500 with sleeves then go to go auto works and get a turbo kit with that kit get a hondata ems some injectors fuel pump and a clutch kit

Here... read this and you can see some set ups that are with in that budget. It should give you an idea of the mods vs power out put.
Hope this helps.

Unlike the mustang world, there are great companies and not so great companies, but no one or 2 just stand out like, KB or Vortech.
You need to first start looking in the LS turbo thread on this forum and start comparing setups to what you think you need. once you've made some decisions from that list, in addition to the FAQs at the top of this thread, you'll have a better idea of what you're looking for.. then so will we...
Just listing out parts, when he may not be familiar with what is used where might not help... just yet.
*HINT* Get it NEW, Stay AWAY FROM EBAY AT ALL COSTS, and be realistic with yourself and you'll be happier.
try this one then if you want to stay non vtec.

turbo- any kind of garrett, precision, or anything the shodan can get his hands on.
wastegate- definately tial i wouldnt recommend anything else and for your goals a 38mm would do the job
blow off valve- again i would go with the tial q
intercooler-precision or spearco have a few good ones and full-race carries some that are more expensive
tuning-hondata s300, chrome, neptune, aem, most people stick with hondata s200 or s300
fuel injectors- FIC, injector dynamics(can be pricey), rc engineering
ex manifold- full race for tubular (pricey) or just a decent cast manifold would work
rods- eagle, crower, manley
pistons- je, cp, wiseco, mahle
bearings- many stick with oem or you could opt for acl bearings.
fuel pump- walbro 255
hope this is what you was looking for when it came to brands. all of these are good companies and what a lot of us use and trust.

you dont have to rebuild the bottom end, but its always a good idea since its basically insurance. with the car having over 100k miles it would be a good idea to go ahead and replace the bearings just for peace of mind and while your in there replace the rods and pistons. its just for added peace of mind and the fact they will be able to handle more than the stock rods and give you room to grow because most of the first timers set a goal, and then the boost bug bites and you want more.
and no thats not all of the parts that you will need. a full list of parts would look more like this:
turbo
oil feed line
oil drain line
intercooler piping
intercooler
blow off valve
vacuum lines
wastegate
some sort of boost controller unless you dont want to have control of the boost and only run wastegate pressure
exhaust manifold
rods
pistons
rings
bearings
new headgasket if you rebuild the bottom end
while the head is off might as well add arp head studs (added insurance)
fuel injectors
fuel pump
tuning software
if the car has a stock exhaust you will need a larger diameter exhaust
maybe a few various fittings, clamps, and hoses
boost gauge
wideband gauge
phew..... see where this is going a reliable turbo setup isnt cheap and it can get expensive quick.
like they say pick two and only two fast, reliable, cheap
fast+reliable= not cheap
reliable + cheap= not fast
cheap+fast= not reliable
