Default Megan Racing Coilover

If i got megan racing coilover sleeve and put on my stock shocks and lower it about 1.75-2" ( or maybe about same height as Tein S tech springs ) will it ride rough, Spring rate 450 lb/ft Front and 350 lb/ft Rear. why pay 165 for s techs when i can pay $120 for a coil sleeve and go to the same height and also be able to go lower if i get better shocks down the road. if i go the same height as S techs and if S techs are good for stock shocks shouldn't the megan racing coilover @ the same height as S techs be fine. only problem is if it will be rough because of the spring rate?

- Let me know please

Megans are **** and those will probably ride like it too on stock shocks!!!!! Do what you like if you don't want to pay. Sounds like you have it all worked out in your head so I don't know why you're asking. If you think $45 is a big expense then you might want to get a scooter.

One word. Knockoff.
Where the R&D? Where's the quality control? Years of proven race/track performance? Incredible customer service?
WTF are you expecting for $120? Lemme guess. You think a spring is a spring and a sleeve is a sleeve.

Do a search next time. You think you're the first person ever to run these or ask this question? These kinds of posts are getting old.

I heard they were decent. But the way I see things is spend the extra cash to get a better product, might take longer to save for but in the long run you'll be glad you did. And give the kid a break, I'm sure 11,000 posts ago you were asking questions people already asked on here and not using the search button

Those spring rates are way too high for your stock shocks. Where as the S.Techs are a very mild spring rate which is why they work fairly well with stock shocks. To put it into perspective, those Megan Racing spring rates are nearly 3x stiffer in the front and 4x stiffer in the rear than your stock springs. There's no way your stock shocks will work well and will wear out very fast. The ride quality will suck.

You clearly understand that these coilovers are cheaper than your average brand name lowering spring. So, shouldn't that raise a red flag as to the quality of these things?

By itself, the height doesn't play nearly as important of a role as the spring rate does. So no, your stock shocks will not be fine even if you have the same height as the S.Techs. And yes, it'll ride rough.

IF you are going to be cheap and want to buy these, at the very least get a real good set of shocks BEFORE buying these. No sense in pulling your suspension apart multiple times until you get it right...

Ah. No. I actually know how to use the internet as a research tool. I've owned Hondas since the mid 90s.

although i agree with what you've said about megan products cause they've shitted out on me before but 2 of my friends have the ez street coils and they've lasted them 2+ years but personally i wouldnt buy them again. It always seems with companies like megan its 50/50 mine sucked *** but my friends were great. just stick with known products that everyone on this site recommends do it right the first time you'll be happy in the long run
