Default Engine sounds like sneakers in a dryer

Hey all ..got a 92 accord, drove her less than 8 hours ago. Started right up fine. This rainy morning I go to start her, she cranks fine ..but won't turn over. Like the title says, car makes a loud banging noise like sneakers in a dryer. Strong smell of fuel too. Does not sound well at all. I'm at my wits end with this car, you all have any idea?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

post a video. look under the hood while trying to start. i have never heard a car sound this bad and not end up replacing the engine unless your shoes sound different then mine.

Pull the dist cap, check for wear and also be sure the "o-ring" is there. Could me water getting under the cap causing a miss in the engine........just my two cents.
