Default Planning on dropping, but what size wheels?

Hi guys, so I've done as much research as I can but I had one last question left. I'm planning on saving for coils soon but I wanted to buy rims first. I have a '11 si sedan and I really like the xxr 522s because they really fit my budget.

I was wondering what size they should be? I've heard mixed stories that you should decrease size if you want to lower your car. I'm not looking completely dumped but I'm looking to go stance. Do I go with 15s, 16s, or 17s?

Sorry if this is a newb question!

What is "stance?"

And I would stay at least with the factory size. I'm sure you would have no problem with 16"-18" wheels with any normal to moderate drop.

I'd say I'd like to go almost flush if that makes any sense. My factory rims are 17. Would 16s be okay?

Ew.

Anything less than 17" on that car would be downright dumb.

Yeah definitely. 16s would have such a big sidewall.. and 15s? Eek.

Stick to 17s and up.
