Icon2 99 Accord auto Trans issue

99 accord, over 255k miles, 4 cylinder,

My issue is if i drive super slow the trans mission does not want to shift to higher gears. If I accelerate very slowly the car will rev up to 2.2-2.5k rpm before shifting. Almost like it is hesitating to shift. It never shifts before 2k rpm like most automatic cars if accelerating slow.

I have not changed fluid. Do you guys think it is the fluid?

Main idea: the car doesnt shift at low rpms like most automatics even at 5% trottle.
---Any tips would be helpful. Any sensors that could be effecting it?
---It trows no check engine code.

First thing first, check the tranny fluids and look at the color. if it's dark, brownish color, I would suggest to do a transmission flush.

make sure if you change the fluid to only use honda atf from the dealership. i believe you also have to have the car hot and on level ground to get a correct reading on the dipstick.

your tranny is slipping. these transmissions are notorious for dying on us. my gfs did the same thing 3 months back. she has on 02
