94 Civic EX - sporadic idle and unreliable acceleration
So, I've been lurking around here for quite awhile before registering and asking for the help of the masses. I wanted to do this on my own, but sadly, after weeks of trying I'm ready to throw in the towel.
The car: 1994 Honda Civic EX, 5 Speed Manual. The kid that I bought it from did a auto to 5 speed swap (Where I'm sure that many of these issues are probably coming from)
The Problem(s): The first and most obvious problem with the car is a sporadic idle. I've done many things that others have suggested: Cleaned the IACV, changed the fuel filter, changed the spark plugs and wires. Still has the same inconsistent idle.
The 2nd problem is the one that concerns me the most. It makes it almost unbearable to drive. Probably even unsafe, but this is MY ONLY means of transportation. Sometimes, generally when the car is nice and warm, the acceleration will be very, very unreliable, it will bog down, and really will not go over about 2k RPM unless you hold the gas petal all the way to the floor. While this is happening the car will sometimes just about die out, only to save itself from the brink of death and regain its idle. However, sometimes it will kill itself, even in a high gear at relatively high RPMs(3-4k).
I checked the CEL codes, but it doesn't throw anything other than 19. Which, I assume, means that the kid I got the car from left the auto ECU instead of

Alright, sorry for the confusion. I'll attempt that tomorrow morning and see what happens. Thanks for your help so far. I really appreciate it.
I'm gonna try to do the conversion from the auto to manual ecu to get me by until I can find the proper ecu.
I'm also planning on cleaning the FITV tomorrow.

OP need to clean/repair all of the electrical grounds in the engine bay. I would not be surprised if he had some damaged or dirty grounds somewhere there... Maybe even missing grounds like the one for the transmission and or alternator?
Is there a diagram that locates all of the grounds? That could be the problem too since this kid half assed everything. It was missing all kinds of **** when I got it.
EDIT: Nevermind, found it in the FAQ sticky. I'll add that to my list of things to do today. Thanks!

Yessir, got it and installed it. That auto transcode is gone. Now just the CEL 10 code. I'm guessing that sensor is probably bad.
I haven't had a chance to take it out and drive it yet, but I think I'm gonna go for a spin. Get some lunch and what not. I'll let you know how that goes.
