question about a turbo da that wont start
ok so i know this is a shot in the dark and you guys dont have much to work with, but im picking up a da in a few days. built b18b block b17 head, car is an original gsr. it has a full turbo kit on it, and while i dont know the whole set up, the owner claims 440 whp. the car does look stacked. it has an aem ems, etc etc. problem is, it wont start, so my question to you guys is where should i start the troubleshooting? i can tell the kid bought the car off of someone who built it and now that it wont start hes in panick mode and selling it, because im getting it for 2k. he said the last time it ran he started it drove it around the block, next day he tried starting it and it wouldnt hold an idle, then the next day it just cranked but wont start. any help would be great. thanks
Could be something simple like a bad sensor, or the tune got jacked up. Could be the timing belt, could have jumped a tooth. The distributor could have taken a crap. There's tons of things. Start with the basics. Fuel, spark, compression, and go from there.
yeah im having a guy come over with a compression tester, also the kid that owns the car thinks it could be timing. im not sure about the tune, he said he has the tune down just fine and also said if i bought an s300 he has a tune saved for that for the setup. im hoping its something stupid like a fuel pump, because the car is a 92
4 things keep a car from starting, Fuel/Spark/Air/Compression. Test the compression, check for spark, make sure it's getting fuel. It's unlikely it's not getting air. Figure out which of these it is not getting, then come back and we will tell you why it isn't.

As previously stated its always best to start with the basics, fire, fuel, compression.
Just by experience with any car that just quit running is timing belt 7/10.
Thats where I would start good luck, you may have got a steal if you can get her going cheap!
