I heard of people trimming them to make them fit but it doesn't seem worth the time especially when you can find the right ones for cheap

I found side skirts for the coupe and put them on my hatch, its a simple cut, and everything lines up. Its one of the simplest things you can do!
Just cut in the back so you will get a clean look...
