I need new wheels bearings, and would rather not sped the $400+ OEM is going to run.

Are these any good?

A buddy bought his from autozone about year ago...hasn't had a problem with them. A year is isn't much justice, but surely they would be a decent alternative to OEM.

I bought mine off ebay.

 

Great. That is my issue, buy these, or go Moog, or OEM.

Man, I don't have experience with the aftermarket bearings, but the OEM bearings go for at least 100k miles.. That has to say something..

 

I understand that, and normally I always say go OEM, but when OEM is sitting at $400+ just for the bearings I am going to look in another direction first.


I found Moog on eBay, but I am a little iffy about them beucase they say Disk/drum is the same bearing.

I always thought they weren't.

 

I work on cars for a living and honestly I don't think there is a huge difference. Yea eom are better and last longer but are almost 4 times as much. Things like that I even put on my own car.

 

i have used the 30 dollar driveworks bearings. 3rd teir brand from advance auto parts from when i used to work there.

they lasted in my si for over 2 years. just pack them with grease before you install. bearings usually dont fail unless they're not lubricated properly.

hmm. i don't think I'll be going that cheap, but saving some money really is the key here. lol

OEM bearings are about double for the front end, and tripple for the rear.

It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have to buy the whole hub.


Those moog bearings I found were for drum, noithing on ebay at all for disk.


EDIT- Another thought, NTN/ koyo seems to make the bearings for Honda, so I am going to take a look and see if I can find anything.

 

Use the timken from autozone has the same as oem koyo bearing,non abs are cheaper than abs.
I have used timken bearings front and rear on my hatch and they are quality parts.

i just installed a duralast one in my gf's car about a month ago and its been fine. only time will tell. timken does make good bearings. these bearings are sealed bearings u dont "pack" them with grease just if installing them yourself put grease around the outer edge so it will help the pressing process. it has to be pressed in perfectly straight. when pressing it at any other angle could cause premature failure.
