I have an ep3, the engine was cutting out while sitting at traffic lights and wouldnt start for about 10mins. It started and the engine management light came on reading crankshaft senor.

The sensor has been replaced but the problem happened today again

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

 

There's only two reasons as to why this could be happening:

Option 1: The wires are broken in the harness.

Option 2: The ring on the crank could be broken

I'd be pulling the wire loom away from the crank sensor wiring and looking very closely for breaks in the wire. When you find it, resolder it properly and you're good to go.
