Default EF/DA Fork inner diameter? Threading shock into fork

what is the inner diameter of the EF/DA forks?

I am planning on boring the id out on a set of forks, and threading them to the same pitch as my shocks, so i can thread the shock directly into the fork, instead of using a lower mount (lower mount adjustable coilovers). This would allow me to drop 2 inches lower atleast, without altering preload or any spec. of the coilovers. Anyone ever done this?

interesting concept...bolt the fork shut, weld it and go for it! :D

Interesting idea!
Before you do it, something you may want to make sure is that after the shock is screwed into place that it doesn't come of the bottom of the fork too far so that it would hit the axle.

with how short the shock body is, and the lower mount removed, the ride height would already be low enough to be dragging the mudflaps up front with just an 1.5 inches or so threaded into the fork. Since these "taiwanese" lower-mount adjustable coilovers are not made to handle altered preload to get lower (shocks will blow out much sooner), this would be a workaround to keep the preload and everything else within factory spec. and get much lower, since with the lower mounts spun all the way up, there is only about a 1 inch drop from stock.

EDIT:
Apparently, if the ef fork is bored out enough to accept the threaded shock body, the fork will be dangerously thin or not there at all. I will have to investigate and do some measuring next time I am home.
