Icon7 ITR with K swap

Hello,
Anyone know of a really nicely done ITR using a K swap? In the near future I MAYbe interested in getting an ITR That has had a successful, clean swap. Ie clean wiring/ no wire tucks jobs/ tHe engine bay should have that stock looking HONDA look.....although it's had a K swap.

This will act as my 2nd ITR so I can keep the miles off of my original ITR.

Thanks in advance
db

Sometimes, even the best B series motors aren't good enough for some people.

Why does this OP refuse to do a simple search that would have given him/her an answer in 10 seconds or less?

take a well built 200whp 1.8L b series dyno graph then overlay a 240whp 06-08 k24a2 graph and you'll see something

a properly setup 06 to 08 tsx motor with proper bolt ons and a proper tune is making 225whp by 6200rpms and still makes power to 8k

let's have a look at some b series motors at 6200

http://dynos.evans-tuning.com/2010/1...m-218whp152tq/

here's my friends pretty badass 2.0L b...approx 172whp

here's a 1.8

http://dynos.evans-tuning.com/2011/0...-hondata-s300/

in the 155whp area at 6200

here's an even more badass 2.0L 14 to 1 compression itb's etc etc...doesn't make 225whp till 7500 rpms

http://dynos.evans-tuning.com/2010/1...s-245whp164tq/

another simple setup 150whp at 6200

http://dynos.evans-tuning.com/2010/1...d-211whp137tq/

so basically what i'm saying is a bolt on 06-08 k24a2 is hard to be compared to! its basically like taking a built 200whp b series and giving it a 75 shot of nitrous in the midrange!

At least he wasn't asking about throttle body spacers, the best intake/exhaust or where to find parts etc lol.

IDK why people dog on k-swaps so much, i personally love them. Not as much as h motors..but I have alot of reasons for that.

I love K-swaps. It makes original ITR's worth that much more money.

This was my first Dyno sheet after I built my B-Series motor back in 04/05
http://dynos.evans-tuning.com/2010/1...s-220whp149tq/

I later went on to change the following:
Hytech headers to RMF drag headers $1,000
Hondata S200 to Neptune then, back to S300 $500 + $500
RM M24X cams to Skunk Pro $650
Random hi flow cat to test pipe $150
Retune (Neptune $500) + (S300 $500)

After all of that money and time I made 225whp & 155tq. ( a whopping 5whp)
Later on found out my head gasket was bad. Oh well.

With my current motor (K24A2 - TSX), I'm guaranteed to make 225whp ++ with bolt ons.
If I were to run the same setup as my old B-series with, my K24A2 motor, I would be making close to 300whp & 200tq

My point is, there's no comparison between a B-series & a K-series motor as far a power potential. It's called "PREFERENCE." The idea of doing a motor swap may be too far fetched for some of you. However, somethings aren't for everybody but, we are all entitled to our opinions. IMO, OP, this thread should've been in the WTB section. In any event you would've still received mixed views. BTW GL !!!!!!!!!!

I couldnt agree more. I have had numerous ITR swaps in civics and have had 4 ITR's with their original USDM B18C5's and they do not come close to a K20. The feeling you get when you drive a K20 swapped car is night and day compared to the B's. I currently have a K24 frank in my ITR and it's a blast to drive on the track, auto-x, and on the street. Again, their's folks that don't want to remove the ITR B18C5 and that's understandable, it comes back down to perference and what you want out of your car.

Thanks for all of the great posts guys! Love it! @klzemX6 thank you for posting that research.
Ive always found the K series intriguing, but not as much until i saw some videos on youtube showing lotus Elise fitted with a K24 installation; the way these engines pull and scream with such reliability shows how dedicated Honda is to improving the MOST SIGNIFICANT contribution to the automotive industry.... VTEC technology.... Check out this link This is aimed at you BMW with your VANOS!!

I dont see any problem with a K swap in a car that is salvaged.......I would not do it to a clean title R though.
