I traded brake pads for head.........what a deal!
I traded a good freind of mine a set of Brake pads for his spare ZC head.
This is the head that I am going to rebuild for 400HP. As you can see, it is in great shape, and only really needs a bit of cleaning to be utilized. This however, is not going to cut it for 400HP .
Work to be done:
- Slightly polish the intake side. Making sure some of the casting texture is there to prevent carbon build up.
- Port and polish the crap out of the exhaust side.
- Install Custom Endyn LS exhaust valves. I am getting my local machine shop to machine the stem down to fit the ZC. The intake valves are nitride coated stock, and will work perfectly. The exhaust valves however, are all burn't (not to mention tiny) and not going to to help in the production of power.
-Shave the head a .020". This will give me a CR of ruffly 9.7 with the custom endyn pistons i have planed.
