Default Eibach pro shocks + lower springs?

Currently have the Eibach Sportline kit (springs & pro shocks) on my EG hatch and am not happy with where the springs put me at (roughly 2 finger gap all around on 195/50/15's). If I were to put lower springs on the car, I'm considering H&R Race springs, Skunk 2 sleeves or Ground Control sleeves. Or if my shocks can dampen stiffer springs, should I consider ebay sleeves?

The car used to have ebay sleeves on stock shocks and it rode like **** but assuming Eibach Pro shocks have different dampening than stock, it might be OK? I'm trying to mod on a budget as I'm planning to buy a house this year so if I can avoid spending $350 on Ground Control sleeves, that would be great :D

Also if anyone knows the spring rates of Ground Control, Skunk 2 and ebay sleeves that would be great. Then I can cross reference numbers to what I have now and determine if they are something I can live with.

From what I have read/gatherd the Eibach shocks were meant to handle those springs, and increasing the drop/spring rates could affect how long the shocks last.

I would NOT put no names on them, or even coilovers.

You can chose the spring rates for GC. Off the shelf is somewhere in 380/250 range.
My Skunk2's are 650/350. Normally they run this or 450/350. EBay, who the hell knows. I'll bet money the companies selling them don't even know what the rates are on those Peices of ****.

However, a few years back, I guy got tired of not knowing and measure them/did the math. I think they came out to be in 700ish lb range, which I very highly doubt the Eibach shocks can handle.

10-4 on no-names. I know it might affect the longevity of the Eibach shocks but they do have a lifetime warranty The guy who measured the springs that came out in the 700ish lb range, were those ebay coils?

Have you heard anything about Blox springs? Found a set locally for $100. Claims to drop 2.25 up front and 2" out back.

Yes, they were ebay coilovers, AKA no names.

I wont touch blox parts ever again. My endlinks lasted about a year, which says to me poor quality. Not to mention, the well known bushings issues.

I also don't reccomend people use blox parts either.

Sounds like I should go with GC sleeves. H&R Race springs are about $100 cheaper though

Here's what I'm looking at for GC's, any idea on spring rate? I may just call them tomorrow and see what they say.

Your going to need a minimum of a 350lb in front, I would reccomend a 400lb, and maybe a 280-350 in rear to keep some comfort.

However, I really think these rates will be pushing your shocks to the breaking point.

Nevermind, my shocks don't have a lifetime warranty. Just a 2 year.

The Sportline springs I have on the car are 310F/275R and it rides good. The shocks are meant to handle those so I can't imagine a slightly stiffer spring would push them to their breaking point, as you say. I will call Eibach and ask them though.

I talked to Eibach and the guy said, just to be on the safe side, they don't recommend putting any stiffer than 400lb springs on their Pro damper shocks. Obviously putting stiffer springs on will shorten the life of the shocks but I think I might try 375 in front and 325 out back. That might be a happy medium for these shocks and lowering the car a little more.
