Default Shaky/Vibrating Steering Wheel

I recently did balancing on all my tires and I still get a shaky/vibrating steering wheel while on the freeway going 60+. I was thinking it might just need an alignment done or rotating the tires might help out. Any suggestions and how I can check them myself? Thanks.

I'd take a look at your outer tie rods. Bad ones can cause said symptoms. I had the same issue and looked at my tie rods and not only where they leaking grease but really loose that could be moved around by hand. I purchased a front end Kit on ebay, included inner tie rods, outer tie rods, lower ball joints and sway bar links. After installed car ran solid with no more vibration and steering felt more firm. Not saying you have to replace everything I did, but should check them out.

Plus these are items to look at before an alignment because another alignment will be needed if anything needs replacing. I've worked as a techncian for Toyota in the pass and with my experience vibrating and shaking are due to a bad balanced tire or bent wheel or bad steering parts such as tie rods. A bad alignment will mainly cause pulling, crooked steering wheel and of course worn tires.

How old are your tires? Sometimes old tires get flat spots, even if the balance is spot on it will vibrate, if they are new, then whoever did the balance messed up.

Ahh I see thanks 2kdb8, I'll be sure to check those out. I actually had a (minor) leak coming from under the coolant/power steering fluid container area when I changed my oil and yet i couldn't really find the source of the leak, but it also stopped after I set the car back down. And DirtyDA9, my tires are near new, still with at least 90% tread. The balancing actually helped when I had got it done, but I guess I should get it rebalanced at another shop after checking out the other things.
