Default I want to start a sleeper

I'm thinking about turning my 92' Integra LS into a sleeper. Given that it is 10 years old and has around 138k miles on it, do you guys think it is worth it? I bought the car for 4k USD so almost any major modifications will completely overshadow the cost of the car.

Edit: If yes, what kind of parts should I look into? Turbo or superchargers is the obvious thing but what else is there that can increase a cars performance?

How long do you plan on keeping the car, and how much money do you want to spend on it?

u wanna keep it a sleeper...... get a big *** turbo and keep the body stock. maybe a exhaust that looks stock. then u will be a sleeper. make sure u have some of those "vote for " stickers and "my child is an honor roll student" stickers. no one will expect it.

oh and dont tell your friends what u are doing.

I will probably keep the car as long as I can ( I will drive this one to the ground ). A turbo will probably cost double the cost of my car, is there anything else other than a turbocharger or a supercharger that will work?

If you want a true sleeper, turbos and superchargers tend to get loud unless you have a good exhaust system that will hide the compressor noises.

I'd suggest a B20 vtec with nitrous as another option.

If u want to have a sleeper...the best thing to do is probably get an engine swap...

like someone mentioned before a b20vtec putting down about 215 whp with a 60 shot will take care of most of the competition on the street. also put a child seat in the back. nothing says family car like a child seat.

keep the engine that you have and build up the head. i have a 93 4 door w/ a built head from a 95 ls and it looks as if i had nothing done to the engine

b20/vtec + nitrous . Turbo/super charger will be too loud, and its a pain in the *** to try to find a way to make the intercooler not noticable, plus you could NEVER pop your hood. With b20/vtec some people can't tell just by looking at it, and you can easily hide the nitrous selinoids and lines.

My knowledge on the vtec is a little rusty. Doesn't it work sort of like a turbocharger in that its only cool neato feature kicks in at high RPMs? How much would a engine like that cost? Would a turbo or a new engine be a better buy?

If I want to build up the head would it really make THAT big of a difference?

who cares about charger noise? cuz by then that means u'll be running someone, and it'll be too late for them . not like heavily modded NA motor won't make noise...modified cars will be loud either way.

you dont have to have an intercooler, and if you do, you can paint it black.
