ef d16y7 swap!
i have a 91 civic hatchback with a d15b1 stickshift. i have a d16y7 (non v tec) engine nd complete harness from a 97 civic lx id like to swap into the 91. what parts or mods will i have to do to make this work.?
You won't need the harness from the new motor. Just swap over the intake and exhaust manifolds over to the new motor. Also reuse your d15s alternator and distributor. When putting the engine in take the drivers side mount (the one that bolts to the block itself), and swap it over to the Y7. That's about it. You'll have an extra sensor by the crank pulley on the Y7 just ignore it. The only wiring youll have to do is the fan switch. The d15 is on the back of the block (two pin with a green center), take those two wires from there and wire it to the Y7s fan switch on the thermostat housing. The wire order doesn't matter. All the other head and block sensors are plug and play.
