Frustrated about my car a little bit.
Arg I think my damn alternator is broken! It was working fine when I drove home from school, then 20 mins later I try to start it and fail. I jump it and it works, but then a couple hours later, no luck when I try to move it into my garage... *sighs* Is this covered in my warrenty?
Oh yeah, my damn horn stopped working last year and it's not the fuse, the actual unit is broken, and my driver's side window crawls. I can't wait to see what the future holds for my 00' EX!

00' EX, mods i/h/e. nothing that should affect my alternator.
Oh yeah, when i'm idling and have my air conditioner on, it makes this metallic ka-thunk sound as well... rofl...
i should ditch my quality control failure vehicle, get a 92 cx, swap a b18c1, then boost it. *sighs*

Yeah you're right. It does sound like an alternator problem. Did you check to see if it's charging?.. Because the alternator should put out at least 2volts higher than the battery itself. But if it is charging, see if the voltage regulator is dumping the power to ground.. Hope that little bit of info helps..
your car is punishing you for that hideous front bumper you have.
but anyway, you should go and check what kinda voltage you're getting under load and see how far it drops at idle, etc... sucks that Hondas don't come w/ voltmeters stock.

bah i love my front bumper! it has a nice open space right where my AEM cai hangs, and it's pretty loud =D
well, i took it to honda and they said it was only the battery that was bad, and they changed it. they also checked my horn and ordered a new one. the good thing is they only had my car for 4 hours, the bad thing is, it cost $114 total.. BASTARDS! don't they know i'm a poor *** college student??
my friends mercedes benz SUV (never buy one!), had to undergo 5 brake changes costing $1500 each time. mercedes benz paid all of it every time, talk about a great warrenty!
oh yeah another problem that makes me embarassed to drive my car in the summer: when i turn on my air conditioning, it makes this horribly loud, steady, metallic knocking noise... sheesh... where's a 94 TT supra when ya need one, fuq this car.

Die Hard owns. I left my lights on about 6-7 times in the past 2 years because I'm an idiot and it's always come back strong after a jump or push start.
The metalic sound you are hearing when the AC is on and the car is idling is coming from the flange where the downpipe connects to your Catalydic (sp) converter . I have a stock exhaust and it does it all the time and drives me nuts . But I haven't found anyway of correcting the problem. I also agree with the previous post . If its under warrenty why did you have to pay?

They replaced my battery with an Exide premium. I don't know if that's any good or not, but i'd rather have a die hard for sure. I've never taken my car into honda in the 2 years that i've had my car because I did the oil changes myself. Currently it only has 17.9k miles on it and I am angry that I had to pay anything at all.
They said it was the cost of the labor, and if they proved that my electrical problem was due to my aftermarket parts (laughs in scorn) they would charge me for the price of the parts as well. They didn't find it to be so and went ahead and replaced the battery and proceeded to charge me
Perhaps I voided my warrenty by not taking in my car every time my warrenty book told me so.. I just figured If my car didn't have any problems and I could take care it myself quite well, why bother wasting the time taking it to the dealship, ESPECIALLY if they were going to rape my wallet. grrrrrrr.... honda in iowa
